The Night the Lights Went Out in Dickson
The Franklin High Rebels stormed
into Dickson this past Friday night with one objective. WIN! And win
they did. Within the first 5 minutes of play, Franklin had scored
14 points and was showing complete domination of the game. Amazingly,
with a very close resemblance to the playoff game in Gallatin two
years ago (when Franklin jumped out to a quick 3 touchdown lead) the
lights went out on the vistor side of the Dickson County stadium.
Unlike the Gallatin game where momentum changed making the game much
closer with FHS squeeking out a win, this time Franklin turned it
up to REBEL LEVEL and destroyed even the slightest thought of a momentum
change. By mid-way through the 2nd quarter, Franklin has put up 35
points on the board to 0 for DCHS allowing the coaching staff to begin
substituting younger players before the half. By the end of the game,
Franklin's offense had racked up 402 yards total offense by showing
a wealth of versatility in play selections and executing soundly.
The final score was 49 - 20, closing the regular season for the Rebels
with a 9 - 1 season. Franklin now prepares for the first round
of the playoffs as they will face Antioch at home.
